We had 46 shooters competing in the 2016 North Texas Juniors Open and each shooter brought their own cheering section. Mom's, Dad's, Brother's, Sister's, Grandma and Grandpa's and Shooting Coaches. The weather cooperated and the targets were good. Nicholas Godfrey won the Junior Championship with a score of 98 out of 100. He was tied with Austin Rieth, but Austin was a no-show for the shoot off event. Sean Packer won the Sub-Junior Championship with a score of 94. The Lady Junior Champion was Morgan Scott posting a score of 95 and the Lady Sub-Junior Champion was Charli Abendroth with a score of 93. All of these young shooters shot well. They were safety conscious, well disciplined and demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship.

Particularly noteworthy was the number of Club members who volunteered their time to make this event so successful. The machines worked without any problems, they were loaded with targets quickly between events and the Referees did a super job of keeping the squads organized and safe. Everyone enjoyed the Burgers and Dogs from the grill and the prizes that were donated by both individuals and corporations were wonderful.

Our next shoot will be a one day, one gun competition on Saturday, October 15th. Our Annual "Big Bore Open" shooting 100 targets in a 12 gauge event. Should be a good time with lots of serious Texas skeet shooters from the Dallas Metroplex.
